Butterfly Room

Butterfly time is a time for us to run our transition-to-school programme; we aim to encourage the children to be ready when they leave for primary school.

We aim for this by weaving Te Whāriki learning outcomes alongside primary schools’ key competencies.

We do this by preparing fun activities around their interests and allowing them to take turns with leadership roles within the session.

Butterflies also enjoy visits to each local primary school (Leeston and Southbridge) to help with the transition process.
